Description
Headcloth from the Pilsen region, made of fine white cotton linen and richly embroidered with white cotton thread. Along the edge, in the scallops, are heart-shaped motifs with small flowers and S-shaped leaves. The headcloth was published in 'Svéráz v zemích českých' by Amálie Kožmínová in 1921 as the work of the embroiderer Vlnařová. The ends of the scallops are buttonhole-ringed. Techniques: eyelet embroidery along the edges finished with buttonhole stitch; floral motifs in full embroidery; stem stitch on twigs; drawn and pulled mesh fillings; a spider-web filling in the large flower.
